It was almost impossible not to have a goalkeeper linked with Arsenal after yesterday’s outrageous 5-6 win in Poland. And we also have a midfielder to round things up.

According to Mirror Football, manager Arsene Wenger is ready to offer £23m to sign Liverpool’s Pepe Reina. It sounds like an insane fee to pay but after what we saw in the first half in Warsaw, it seems we desperately need a new goalkeeper and the 27-year old could be a good choice since he has plenty of Premiership experience already.

Elsewhere, Goal.com reports that Liverpool are favourites to sign Arsenal target Shaun Wright-Phillips from Manchester City. After winning the battle to sign Joe Cole, it now seems that the Reds will also win the battle for the 28-year old although the Gunners should focus on the defensive department rather than in midfield.

And as always, we conclude with yesterday’s poll results. Less than 1,000 votes with Philippe Mexes getting a high percentage of positive votes but very little votes for goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard.
