The Dutch Football Association have confirmed that Arsenal striker Robin van Persie will be out of action for at least a few weeks.
Having just made his return for the Gunners as a regular against Blackburn at Ewood Park on Saturday, the 27-year old was replaced by Morocco’s Marouane Chamakh after only 34 minutes after suffering an ankle injury which will keep him out of Euro 2010 qualifiers against San Marino and Finland.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger did say after the Blackburn game how the striker will be out of action for a maximum of two weeks and as his prediction looks similar to the one made by the Dutch National team, it seems that the striker will miss home games against Bolton and Braga in the Champions League after the Gunners return to action after the International break.
Arsenal are already without Denmark’s Nicklas Bendtner who will be back in October and have problems in midfield as well after Samir Nasri underwent knee surgery last week which will keep him on the sidelines for at least three more weeks.
