England striker Theo Walcott is probably enjoying his best spell as an Arsenal player as he confessed that his objective for the season is to score 15 to 20 goals.
Ahead of this afternoon’s home game against Newcastle United at the Emirates, the 21-year old was full of praise for former Gunner Thierry Henry, saying how he will always be in his heart and how he hopes to see him make a comeback at Arsenal as it would be a great opportunity for the young players.
On his personal objectives, Walcott said how it would be a great achievement to do half of what Henry did and how he wants to score at least 15 goals during the 2010/2011 campaign.
The Gunners face Newcastle United on a day which sees Chelsea travel to Liverpool with many believing how this could be a day in which Arsenal could close the gap at the top.
On his objectives, Walcott said:
[Henry] will always be in my heart. I will always look up to him and you never know, one day he might return to Arsenal. You have all these past players coming back. It would be fantastic for young players coming through to learn from him. It would be great for the club.
If I do half what he did it is a great achievement, but I want to be my own player and want to learn from the best. My target this season is between 15 and 20 goals. I will play anywhere for Arsenal but it is nice that the manager has different hopes for me as I feel I am a striker.
