Cruz Azul winger Alejandro Vela – brother of Carlos – revealed the Arsenal striker could be on his way out of Arsenal after manager Arsene Wenger dropped him from the squad.
Speaking about his brother, Alejandro explained how many top European teams are interested in signing the 21-year old who is already in possession of a EU passport so leaving the Gunners is a possibility with the January transfer window to open next month.
The Mexican had a disappointing World Cup after damaging his right hamstring in the penultimate game of the Group against France but recovered well and enjoyed a very good pre-season and first part of the season with the Gunners.
But, having failed to make the starting line-up when Theo Walcott, Robin van Persie and Nicklas Bendtner were all out injured, he no longer believes he could be an asset for the Gunners and could indeed leave during the winter transfer window with his brother not saying whether it would be on a loan or permanent basis.
On Carlos Vela’s future, his brother said:
The truth is that there are several senior European teams in different leagues who are interested and he already possesses a EU passport so don’t be surprised if he leaves Arsenal.
But, everything has been kept quiet because this is how things are done in European football but for sure is that Carlos is seeking other options because he wants to play.
He’s not playing much and that’s the worst thing that can happen to a player, that he is not considered an asset in the team.
