Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue was delighted to see the Gunners qualify for the next stage of the Champions League after being used in an uncharacteristic left-back position.
Speaking after the game, the Ivory Coast International said how it doesn’t matter who Arsenal play next as they are strong enough to battle their way past any team. The draw for the next stage of the competition is on December 17 with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Schalke possible opponents for the Gunners.
On playing on the left, Eboue added how he is only interested about playing, about helping the team, regardless of where manager Arsene Wenger places him in the line-up.
The 27-year old concluded by stressing the importance of Monday’s game against Manchester United at Old Trafford, a massive game for both teams according to the defender who believes the Gunners can win the game if they produce a good performance.
After the Partizan game, Eboue said:
Of course the most important thing was to go through, we are very happy for the win.
For us it doesn’t matter who we play [next]. We are strong so we need to concentrate, work hard and always be together – if we can continue to play like this then we can beat any team.
For me it doesn’t matter where I play, I just want to play. If our manager gives me his confidence I always do my best on the pitch for my Club.
The game [against Manchester United] is a massive game and it will be very difficult for both teams.
We always believe in ourselves and we just need to continue how we are playing and if we do that, we can beat them.
