Arsenal midfielder Denilson believes the Gunners should not be demoralised after suffering yet another defeat against Manchester United as they are still fighting for the title.
Speaking to Brazilian TV station O Globo, the 22-year old explained how despite losing against Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United the Gunners are still in a very strong position and how it is important to bounce back from Monday’s disappointment with a win on Saturday against Stoke City.
The midfielder was an unused substitute in Manchester with 18-year old Jack Wilshere now a preferred option in midfield for manager Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal play Stoke City at the Emirates knowing that a win would see them secure top place in the table with leaders Manchester United to play fourth-placed Chelsea on Sunday at Stamford Bridge.
After the Old Trafford defeat, Denilson said:
The loss to United has cost us our place at the top of the table but we are still in the fight for the Premier League.
We have fallen against Chelsea, Tottenham and United and they are our title rivals, but we must not dramatise the situation because it is a long season.
A win on Saturday at home to the Stoke City will put the pressure back on the others.
