Morocco striker Marouane Chamakh believes he is ready to play alongside another striker at Arsenal now that Robin van Persie and Nicklas Bendtner are both back from injury.
The 26-year old started the season as a lone striker for the Gunners but speaking to Arsenal TV Online, Chamakh explained the offensive department will not suffer any problems if the system is to change due to rotation or tactical decisions as he believes healthy competition will push the strikers to be at the top of their game.
The Moroccan joined Arsenal in the summer transfer window from Bordeaux for free and already scored 10 goals for the Gunners, placing second in the top scorer chart behind in-form Samir Nasri.
Earlier today, Arsenal’s game against Stoke City was called off due to bad weather with the Club yet to announce details of the rearranged fixture.
On playing alongside another striker, Chamakh said:
I think that whether I play with Robin van Persie or Nicklas Bendtner or whenever there is some kind of turnover and only one of us is to play because of a tactical choice, I still think that everything will be fine.
The competition between us should not be something negative but it should push us to be at the top of our game.
So if the three of us are always giving 100% and and ready to play, it will always be something positive not only for us but also for the team.
It’s a win-win situation for all of us.
