Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle confirmed there is interest from the Trotters to sign striker Carlos Vela from Arsenal, on loan.
The Scottish is quoted as saying that the 21-year old is an “outstanding player” and how the good relationship between the two Clubs could be the key to reach an agreement. If the Mexican signs, he would be following the steps of midfielder Jack Wilshere who took full advantage of a loan spell with Bolton, securing a regular place with Arsenal after his return to London.
Last week, Arsene Wenger confirmed he is open to let the striker go on loan but how he has no intention of allowing a permanent move as he rates the player high.
Despite featuring very little for the first team this season, Vela still managed to find the back of the net three times, twice in the Champions League and once in the English Premier League.
On a possible loan deal, Coyle said:
Carlos Vela is an outstanding player. I think Arsene said at the weekend he could go on loan and people have looked and put two and two together.
We have a good relationship with Arsenal, obviously with Jack Wilshere last year and hopefully we played a small part in his development, and there is no doubting Carlos Vela is a wonderful player.
