Johan Djourou: Why there is still a lot to come from Arsenal

Arsenal defender Johan Djourou confessed Wednesday’s draw against Manchester City at the Emirates is hard to take as the Gunners deserved all three points.
Speaking to Arsenal TV Online, the Swiss International explained how the team showed the same form they showed against Chelsea and Birmingham, tried hard but unfortunately failed to score. The centre back believes lady luck was not smiling down on Arsenal as they went very close to score but were denied three times by the post.
On looking forward with optimism, the 23-year old explained there is still a lot more to come from the Gunners because they are now showing character and are trying very hard to win games.
Asked about Manchester City’s “negative” approach, the defender concluded by saying how credit should be given to the Arsenal defensive department for putting pressure on the City strikers even in their own half.
After the game, Djourou said:
The team kept going from the games that we played against Chelsea and Birmingham. We did well, it’s hard to take, we hit the post three times and we had plenty of chances but didn’t really have anything [to show for it]. It’s a draw, we haven’t lost, but difficult to take.
We’ve been unlucky today, that’s what made it difficult for us. But overall I think it was a great team performance once again and there’s a lot more to come from this team because we showed character; even if we haven’t scored we tried but it didn’t come tonight but have to take that into the next game now.
We were surprised with [Manchester City's approach] but I think we made it difficult for them because we kept pressure on them like putting them under pressure in their own half so it was difficult for them to play and the team did very well defensively once again.
