Nicklas Bendtner on his Ipswich goal and fighting for a regular place

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner confessed his super goal against Ipswich Town is amongst the five best goals he ever scored in his career.
Speaking to Arsenal TV Online, the Danish International explained it all came instinctively, intuitively, and naturally as he knew he had to produce a good first touch as the defender was tracking back quickly. Asked about his best ever goal, the youngster explained it’s not easy to say as it all depends on when the goal was scored and how.
On securing a regular place in Arsene Wenger’s squad, the 23-year old believes that when he plays he simply has to take his chance to demonstrate that he can be indispensable to the side, even if it means playing on the right and turn provider for his team-mates.
Asked about transfer rumours suggesting he wants to leave the Gunners, Bendtner concluded by saying that his desire and ambition is to win trophies with Arsenal and how he never wanted to leave the North London Club.
On his season, the Dane said:
[The goal against Ipswich] is in my top five list. [It all] came instinctively, I knew I had to take the ball down and the defender came back quite quickly. [My best goal ever?] I’m not sure because it depends, there’s a lot of different way to look at it; the meaning of how you score the goal and when you score it counts as well.
[My performance] had a lot to do with the hard work I put myself through and trying to get back to fitness from all the things that have been happening around me. As I said before, I just want to play football and prove every time I play that I should start and I think Tuesday was a good opportunity to show that.
I can play [on the right] but I don’t think you have as much chance as when you play up front in the goalscoring region where it can happen all the time but on the right you have to create things, create for other people.
[Leaving Arsenal?] I’ve never hid that I would like to play but my ambition, my thoughts and the way I see this Club is fantastic and I’ve never wanted to move in any way. I want to stay here, play this year out and then see next year, look forward to a new season.
