Jens Lehmann: What I think of the three Arsenal goalkeepers

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann believes the Gunners have three very good goalkeepers as they enter the last part of the season.
Speaking to Arsenal TV Online before Lukasz Fabianski’s season-ending injury, the 41-year old explained he had a very close relationship with the Polish International adding that he was good, brave, quick and eager to learn from his first days as an Arsenal goalkeeper.
On young Wojciech Szczęsny, Lehmann confessed he knows very little about him but heard how he could be the future for the Gunners. And on Manuel Almunia, the German said he rates him very high and how he was very unlucky to suffer the shoulder injury, this season, which saw him lose his place first to Fabianski and then to Szczęsny.
On if he still keeps a close eye on the Gunners, Lehmann concluded by confessing he still watches games and how he was in Asia when Arsenal eased past Chelsea in December, with the German believing how wins in big games are very important for the confidence of the players.
On the three Arsenal keepers, he said:
I had a close work relationship with Lukasz Fabianski because he was joining our professional team. He was really good, he was brave, quick, enthusiastic to learn a lot which he has done after probably half a year. [As for] Wojciech, he was quite young when I was training with him, so I haven’t followed his progress so far but what I’ve heard is that he’s a great prospect for the future.
And there’s Manuel [Almunia] as well, who I rate very high. He was unfortunate because of injuries so I believe [Arsenal] have good keepers.
I watch [Arsenal games]. I was in Asia and watched the game against Chelsea, it was massive, people sometimes don’t realise how massive the Premier League and English football – particularly the big games – are in Asia. And it was good to see that they finally beat a big side and I think they should grow in confidence and believe they can win the title.
