Midfielder Samir Nasri confirmed he will meet with Arsenal at the end of the season to discuss his future as he confessed he is always flattered to be linked with top names in European football.
Speaking to Sport magazine, the Frenchman explained he has no intention of leaving the Gunners empty-handed as he added that he is happy in London and how this season is Arsenal’s golden opportunity to enjoy silverware.
We promised each other to speak about this subject after the season ends. One of the reasons I came to Arsenal was to win titles and I’m not expecting to leave without one.
I’m always flattered when my name is mentioned in connection with any big club. But I also know how things work. I don’t think about these things. If there was any offer it would be different, then I would have to make a choice.
As things are right now, I feel happy here and I have the confidence from the manager. But things can change quickly in football and then we could have a new situation. It takes time for a team to develop into a winning side, but I think the time is right now.
Meanwhile, Andrey Arshavin told the Club’s official website how his winning goal against Barcelona is a “crucial” moment in any footballer’s career as he confessed he was calm when he came on as a substitute and how it’s not true he changed the game after coming on. The Russian scored with a well-taken strike with all those betting online on the Gunners happy to see Arsene Wenger’s side secure the 1st leg win.
To score against Barcelona for any player is a very crucial moment, maybe in your career. It doesn’t happen a lot, especially [because] it brought a win.
When I came on I didn’t feel special, I was just calm and when I had a chance I scored the goal. I did not change the game, I just took my chance. If I changed the game I would say.
When I was sitting on the bench it looked very tough for us because Barcelona always have a lot of possession, that is why you must be patient. After the game I was very excited but now it is in the past and we have to be focused on the next game.
