Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes young Ignasi Miquel is not yet ready to feature in the English Premier League and Champions League but showed positive signs ahead of the future.
Speaking to Arsenal TV Online, the Frenchman explained that the 18-year old did enough to show that he will be an important member of the defensive department in the future but how he is to first improve certain aspects of his game such as his commitment in challenges and his strength in the air.
Asked about Aaron Ramsey’s return from loan, the Arsenal boss added that the Welshman will be back at Arsenal after this weekend’s game between Cardiff and Hull City and will be available like any other Arsenal player in the team.
Wenger concluded by saying that he intends to use the 20-year old if he returns with no injury worries with the player on target, yesterday, against Leicester City in the Npower Championship.
On the two youngsters, Wenger said:
[Ignasi Miquel] He is not yet ready [for Premier League or Champions League] but he did enough to show that he will play in the Premier League and the Champions League. I feel that is the most important thing.
He has some aspects of his game that he has to work on, a bit more committed in the challenges, better in the air. But overall he has shown that he has the potential to play in there.
Aaron Ramsey is on loan until Saturday. After that he comes back and could be available for the second tie against Leyton Orient on Wednesday. I of course [intend to use him]. I have good reports [from Cardiff], he will play on Saturday again and then we see if he comes from that game well and after that he is available for the squad at Arsenal.
