Arsenal midfielder Alex Song confessed it is not easy to play so many games in such a short of period of time but added how professionals should always be ready when called into action.
Speaking to Arsenal TV Online after the win over Stoke on Wednesday, the 23-year old admitted there is very little time to rest at home but how this should not be used as an excuse as every single player should give his best in every game.
Asked about winning the Premier League this season, the Cameroon International added how many were skeptical about their chances when the season kicked-off but wins over Chelsea in the League and Barcelona in the Champions League saw many change their opinion on the strength of Arsene Wenger’s side.
And on the Frenchman, Song explained that he is one of the best managers in the World who has the trust of the players with the midfielder concluding by saying how winning trophies this season is very important for the Club.
On Wednesday, he said:
At the moment it’s very difficult [to cope with all these games] but the best thing to do when we finish the game is to go home and try to rest because we need it.
[But] we don’t have much time to rest but when you play for Arsenal you need to be ready for every single game. We just need to be focused, not have any excuse because we are professionals, we just need to give the best in every single game.
Of course [we can win the League]. When we started nobody said Arsenal can do it but now we’re in April – February sorry – and everyone can see, we showed it when we played against Chelsea in December and now we did very well against Barcelona [and so] everyone looks at us now but we know we have a good team, we have one of the best managers in the World who has the trust of the players and that’s what we need to give him back, we need to win something this year, it’s very important.
