Serie A side Udinese are enjoying one of their best ever seasons in Italy. Fourth in the table, only four points from 2nd-placed Inter Milan, it comes as no surprise than many of Francesco Guidolin’s men are linked with a possible move away from the Club.
Amongst the many players reported to be set to leave Italy, 23-year old Mehdi Benatia is being heavily linked with a possible move to Arsenal as he confessed that Samir Nasri, one of the best players for the Gunners this season, has spoken to Arsene Wenger so as he can join him in London.
The Moroccan did however explain that his future will most likely be in Italy next season as he wants to enjoy a long and winning career with Udinese as he concluding by saying that his family is very happy in Italy, especially his wife.
He explained:
If Samir wants me at Arsenal? Oh yes, he wants to. When I was in France playing for a small team he used to tell me, ‘I will speak to Arsene Wenger’.
I always replied he was crazy. We are big friends, we shared the same room in Marseille, now we chat on the Blackberry.
If I want to stay at Udine? Yes, absolutely, I want to enjoy a long career with Udinese. The Liga, for example, is nice but it only has 3-4 strong teams. I like the Serie A, I like it here and my wife Cecile is very happy as well. We will soon move to Tavagnacco, it’s better for our daughter.
