van Persie on how his game can improve and the Wigan hat-trick

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie believes assists is the only area of his game which needs to be improved as the Gunners enter the last, most important part of their season.
Speaking to Arsenal TV Online, the Dutchman explained that his fantastic start to the new year saw him score goals whenever presented with a shooting opportunity as he added that he knew he would find the back of the net even when missing chances.
On where his game can improve, the striker confessed that he would like to have more assists under his name as he did produce a number of good passes this season but according to Arsenal’s top scorer for the season, they are not enough to be satisfied with.
And asked about what it meant to finally score his first hat-trick for the Club against Wigan, the 27-year old declared it was a relief as he always went close in previous occasions but never actually managed to get it, which was ultimately the reason why he missed the penalty against the Latics.
On his form, van Persie said:
When you feel you have that vibe, for me it’s quite easy just to shoot because I know that when I’m shooting there is a big chance of getting it in.
I was having that period from January [2011] until the end of February, every goal was goal was going in. Even when I missed chances I knew my goal was still coming.
The only thing I still can add a bit is my amount of assists because I like to combine those two a bit more. I’ve had a few good passes but I like to give a few more of them.
I’ve been jumping towards the hat-trick for a couple of years, I scored so many braces in England so many times but after those two goals or just before I would hit the woodwork or the keeper makes an amazing save or just wide.
I thought the same would happen on the day when I missed the penalty when I was on two goals, you could see my reaction, like, ‘Oh no, this is happening again!’. We were winning the game, it wasn’t really a big thing for the team but for me it was because I just wanted my hat-trick. I wanted it so badly that I missed the penalty.
