Arsenal vs Liverpool: Team line-ups, half-time thoughts and match chat

Written by Chris on April 17, 2011 – 16:00

Emirates Stadium

The Game

We’ve been there before, if we are to keep our title hopes alive we have to win today’s game, against Liverpool, at the Emirates Stadium.

Many will agree that today’s performance has to be top class if we are to stand a chance against Kenny Dalglish’s in-form Reds and that is because they have two lethal strikers up front including one, Andy Carroll, who already punished us when he paid a visit to the Emirates wearing the black and white of Newcastle United.

We welcome Alex Song, Wojciech Szczęsny and Johan Djourou back and it will be interesting to see whether Arsene will decide to start with all three or relegate one, two or all three on the bench. Personally, I feel Johan has to start because we need height and strength against Carroll.

It is not easy but let’s face it, if we are to be crowned Champions at the end of the season we have to win all our remaining games, starting from this one, so come on Gunners, make us proud, just like Lewis Hamilton, a Gooner himself, did this morning with a phenomenal race in China.

And, until you wait for kick-off, check out what area of the pitch needs mobility and experience according to Martin Keown and also why Arsene Wenger will continue with his youth policy “as it has been done until now” even if we are close to be taken over by ‘Silent Stan’.

As always, please do join the discussion in our chat room which will also be active after the full time whistle. You will be glad to know that from this season, to provide a better chat experience to our readers, users can be banned if they post offensive comments.
