Zenit St Petersburg would be ready to welcome back Arsenal midfielder Andrey Arshavin if the Gunners decide to sell the 29-year during the summer transfer window.
Sporting director Igor Korneev explained that the Russian Premier League leaders would be open to negotiate with Arsenal the possible return of Arshavin but only if the situation of the player does not improve and he is no longer “comfortable” in London.
No longer a regular in Arsene Wenger’s starting eleven, the 29-year old was very disappointing for the Gunners this season although he still managed to score important goals such as the match winner against Barcelona in the Champions League.
On the future of the player, Igor Korneev said:
Zenit’s doors are always open for Andrey. If his situation at Arsenal does not improve and he’s not comfortable in London, we can study this issue in time for next season.
