Lierse S.K striker Mohamed El-Gabbas confessed his dream is to play in England, in Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.

Speaking to Belgian newspaper HLN, the 23-year old confessed that he took a lot of positive out of the spell with Newcastle United when he was 17-years old.

But after failing to obtain a work permit he returned to his country and played for Al-Masry for two seasons before joining Belgian First Division team Lierse S.K. in the 2009 summer transfer window. El-Gabbas also played twice for his country.

On his future, he said:

At 17 I was involved with Newcastle and learnt much about professional football. I had to return to Egypt because I couldn’t obtain a work license but my goal is to play in the Premier League again – my dream is to go to Arsenal.

  • Jack says:

Tis my dream too, maybe if I dream hard enough Wenger will sign me

    • Unbeaten.49 says:

      Lol, good one

  • Charlie says:

Just checked his stats. 4 goals in 28 appearances in the Belgian league. He’s useless. What’s the point of this story ?

    • Haris says:

I guess Wenger signs those kind of players.

I`m really worried with his last comment about how he cant sign players because then he will have even more frustrated ones…..he has NO competitive spirit, he doesnt care whether we are 1st second or third as long as he keeps his players happy.

  • df1968 says:

As the first comment rightly says, this is the type of signing we don’t need. (although this is the type of signing Wenger makes). This guy is a striker from the Belgium league, not the strongest league, his team are third bottom having scored 26 goals all season.

  • nairobi gooner says:

Well I guess this will be the first player on Arsenal’s Transfer linked when the season is over :-( looks very much like a Wenger signing and we are in so big trouble!

  • PaulK says:

He may want to think otherwise once he learns about our supporters.

  • brigi99jam says:

    So do I , El-Gabbas, So do I

  • Alex says:

    Looks like a Wenger signing?!?

Arshavin, Nasri, Rosicky, Van Persie were all successful footballers when they were signed.

Just because some unknown expreses a desire to play for our club doesn’t mean we are going to sign him. Pure idiocy. Think a little before you post.

  • MUTIU JIMOH says:

Yes think well b4 u post, u jst don’t post stuffs anyhow. Every players in the world wnts to play for ARSENAL.
