Former Arsenal midfielder Liam Brady and striker Theo Walcott both believe new players will join the Club during the summer transfer window.
Speaking to talkSport, the Irishman revealed that there will be a lot of business done adding that the Gunners will spend more than last summer.
He said:
There will be a lot of business done this year and I think we’ll be spending a bit more than we’ve done in the past few seasons. I think Arsenal will spend this summer.
In a separate interview, striker Theo Walcott also expects players to be signed as he however confessed that the first objective of manager Arsene Wenger should be to keep the best players at the Club as next season has to be the one in which the Gunners end their six-year trophyless crisis.
The Englishman explained that even though Arsenal ended this season with no trophies, it is important to look at the positives, such as Jack Wilshere’s top-class season and the recovery from injury of Wales’ Aaron Ramsey.
On this summer’s transfer window, Walcott told the BBC:
Yeah [I'm expecting players to be signed], the manager’s said so. Hopefully we can keep hold of our best players, as we need to be winning something next season without a doubt.
It’s been so long and the fans have waited so long. And players don’t like seeing every season go without winning anything.
It will be interesting to see who comes and goes in the summer, the boss has said he is going to spend. ‘We have got a great squad and play the best football, it is just a cutting edge which we need.
It is disappointing for us players because we want to give the fans something to cheer about and we want to be in the history books.
It was not meant to be this season, but we have shown great potential, with Jack Wilshere coming through, Aaron Ramsey is coming back to form as well, which was great to see, so I think it will look quite good for us next season.
It has got to be because there is a lot of competition with Manchester City and Liverpool coming into the frame now, so it is going to be a very interesting Premier League.
