Saint-Etienne striker Emmanuel Riviere confessed he is flattered to be linked with top clubs around Europe, including Arsenal.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the 21-year old explained that if manager Arsene Wenger is monitoring his progress it means that he can go on to become a very good player adding that the comparison with former Arsenal captain Thierry Henry is a big compliment.
Born in France, the youngster was scouted by Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique Lyonnais, and Saint-Étienne at the start of his career but opted to join Les Verts with which he scored 19 goals in 81 appearances.
With Nicklas Bendtner set to leave during the summer transfer window, the Gunners will probably add a new striker to their squad. Riviere is contracted to St Etienne until 2014 and has an estimated market value of £4.5m.
I am flattered to be linked with the clubs mentioned. I am a young player, so to be linked with Arsenal is fantastic for me.
If Arsene Wenger is interested in you it means you have potential to be a very good player.
People compare me to Thierry Henry and that is a big compliment. If I can achieve half of his career I will be happy.
