Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger named a 23-player squad for next week’s Asia Tour to kick-off on Wednesday against the Malaysia All-Stars XI.
Unsettled midfielder Denilson who revealed at the end of last season that he wants to leave the Gunners is included in the squad with France’s Samir Nasri – heavily linked with a move to Manchester City – to also travel with the rest of the squad.
Back-from-loan Ryo Miyaichi, Armand Traore and Carlos Vela will travel as well but goalkeeper Manuel Almunia and striker Nicklas Bendtner were omitted by the manager.
Emmanuel Frimpong, one of Arsenal’s best players in last season’s pre-season, will have another opportunity to shine and show that he can be an asset in the Gunners midfield in the new campaign.
