Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed that there are still question marks pending over the future of midfielder Samir Nasri.
After saying that the Frenchman and captain Cesc Fabregas are happy at the Club last week in Asia, the 61-year old told Arsenal Player this afternoon that there is “no movement at all” regarding the future of the Catalan and that Samir Nasri is yet to commit himself to the Club.
On goalkeeper Manuel Almunia, the Arsenal boss added that the Spaniard has been contacted by a number of clubs, again confirming that the future of the 34-year old will most likely be away from London.
And on striker Nicklas Bendtner, Wenger concluded by saying that the Denmark International is also negotiating with other clubs and that what is important at this stage of the season is to focus on the players who will certainly be at Arsenal the coming season as those whose future is uncertain will find it hard to be fully committed to the cause.
On the future of his players, the manager said:
The position at the moment [with Fabregas] is a ‘no comment’ situation because there is no movement at all.
[It is] not completely [sorted that Samir will stay] but I want him to stay. He knows that. Hopefully we can sort that out in the coming weeks.
Alumina has been contacted by a few clubs, Bendtner as well. As long as the situation is not settled, we have to focus on the coming season with the players we have.
The players who are uncertain, it is difficult for them to focus on being completely committed.
