Wenger to give Lansbury a chance, confirms Miyaichi will not feature today

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed midfielder Henri Lansbury will be given a chance this season as he possesses the talent to play for the Gunners.
Speaking in his pre-Emirates Cup press conference, the Frenchman explained that the 20-year old needs to work hard to secure a regular place as with the likes of Jack Wilshere, Alex Song and Emmanuel Frimpong already fighting for a first-team spot, the midfield position is indeed a congested one.
Loaned out to Scunthorpe United, Watford and Norwich City, the youngster impressed with the Canaries, scoring four goals during his loan spell including an acrobatic effort against Bristol City.
Wenger concluded by confirming that due to work permit reasons, Japan’s Ryo Miyaichi will not feature during this weekend’s Emirates Cup as he can only play friendlies behind close doors with the manager insisting that the Gunners want to keep the player ahead of next season.
On Friday, Wenger said:
Henri Lansbury is in a situation where I believe he will make a career. At the moment it is a bit congested for him but I believe he has the talent to play for Arsenal Football Club.
I have to give him a chance at some stage and as quickly as possible. I believe in him. But if I honestly believe he will not play this season or has no chance to compete for a position I will tell him and let him go.
We have been very impressed by Ryo [Miyaichi]. Unfortunately he cannot play tomorrow because he can only play friendlies behind closed doors. We hope very soon we get permission for him to play for us.
But we have all been very impressed by the footballer he is and by the person he is. Will he play for Feyenoord again? Our desire is to keep him here.

Also, I hope Lansbury can find a place in the squad. Perhaps he could fill in for Denilson. Along with Frimpong, he seems a very good prospect, and would provide good cover in the midfield.
That said, I would still like Arsene to bring in an established defensive-minded midfielder to cover for Song and force the perma-crock and inconsistent Diaby out of the squad. Someone in the mould of Gokhan Inler would be perfect.
