There may be a cloud of uncertainty hanging over the future of midfielder Samir Nasri but in the meantime he’s still at Arsenal and believes the Gunners can repeat the unforgettable achievement of the Invincibles.
Answering questions by the fans on Arsenal Player, the Frenchman started by saying that the Champions League goal against Porto and the two goals against Fulham in the Premier League are his three favourite goals in an Arsenal shirt as he considers the second one against the Cottagers as “more difficult” because of the way the move finished.
Asked if the Gunners can indeed win the English Premier League without losing any game, the 24-year old explained that what is needed is to start the season on a high as that would inject the right confidence in the players who could go on to achieve this objective.
According to reports, the future of the Frenchman is still uncertain with Inter Milan and Manchester City both linked. Manager Arsene Wenger, however, insisted last week that his objective is to keep the talented midfielder who did not feature for the Gunners in yesterday’s friendly game against Benfica, in Portugal.
On his favourite goals and the Invincibles, Nasri said:
[The best goal I've scored for Arsenal?] I don’t know, I hesitate between the one against Porto and the two against Fulham.
The first one [against Fulham] is more free, quick feet and the second one is more difficult because I passed two players, the goalkeeper and had to turn on myself to score.
[Repeating the unbeaten season?] Yes, I think so. If at the start of the season we start well and we win games that will bring confidence to the team and you will start believing that you can do it.
