The Gunning Hawk - ForumCarlos Tevez

Just like last season, The Gunning Hawk will bring you every day throughout the summer one article with the most creative and sensational Arsenal transfer rumours. To know more about this section and for how long it will be online, kindly visit our forum.

August 15

One of the best strikers of the English Premier League and a 21-year old winger are today’s players linked with a possible move to Arsenal.

According to The Sun, the Gunners are ready to let midfielder Samir Nasri join Manchester City but only in exchange for striker Carlos Tevez. As sensational as the rumour is, one cannot deny that the Argentina International is just what Arsenal need to solve their problems in the final third although to be said is that the 27-year is reportedly so homesick that wants to leave Eastlands and return to Argentina.

In other news, Metro believes that Arsenal are ready to make a move for Marvin Martin and Andre Ayew as soon as Cesc Fabregas joins Barcelona. The 21-year old French-born Ghanaian plays as a winger, but can also play as a striker although in all fairness if there is one position where the Gunners need no new signings, it is indeed on the wing.

And before moving on to today’s poll, a look at Friday’s results in which we collected more than 1,800 and with Jadson getting 767 positive votes but also 214 negative ones and Bryan Ruiz getting 505 vs 317.

As always, please let us know your preference on today’s linked players and don’t be shy to join the discussion in our newly-launched Arsenal forum.

        Traore Senegal

      • goonerdan says:

Frimpong chose to play for Ghana nate

      • jike says:

        Traore is senegalese not french

    • Alex says:

I dont think Traore or Frimpong are international quality yet.

  • Unbeaten 49 says:

I would sign Tevez, He’s a proven and experienced player, the problem is if he want to join us what I really doubt it

  • Rendie says:

If we buy those two then we know we have lost it. Tevez is a wonderful player with a bad reputation of not staying at one team for long. We have suffered a lot in this transfer window because of a player who wants to play at home which is more the same with Tevez. We need player who wont be thinking about their mommas and kids left at home when they know they are being paid lots of kilos. As for Ayew, please! Not now we nee to sort things in d very serious way. I wont be saying a goodbye to Cesc, and hope you dont win anything like Gael already knows how it is like.

  • Nico says:

Wenger has to buy at least a “super quality” defender, midfielder & striker…
    Injuries will stroke us again…
    Cahill
    Hazard
    Benzema
    Arsenal is champion…

  • Enkpersie says:

I would take Ayew Over hazard, he’s much better

  • TUNKETE NDABITI says:

fabrigas is leaving ,nasri is leaving,to me those are not players arsenal real need, in order to be campion any club needs a wonderful goalkeeper, left and right fullbacks, with rehman we won the title, and we loose everything with almunia, the team the way it is, can win the title only if we buy Given to keep our goal. Scienly is good goalkeeper, but remember when he got injuries we loosed our position and even champion hope,at last we losed everything,i dont know why we are preparing for that again, this can not be acceptable easly, the management should interapt on this to make things go.about Fabrigas and Nasri,i will be very happy to see them going, let us remain with players who real think about arsenal n not ortherwise,we have ramsey i believe he can do the best than them, just give him a chance,i remember when we payed Manchester united last season without Fabrigas,we won 1-0, ramsey scored, and to me he was man of the match.
About fullback,it is true that we do not have good fullback,i believe in order a team to win the match it needs a quality cross not quantity to feed strikers so that to score, look to poor arsenal, how many quality cross resulted a goal, from our poor sagna and the late clich? can u tell me?,how can u win a troph with backs like these? I real miss ashley cole.So arsenal problem is 2 fullbacks, and goalkeeper, not center back, not striker.

    • frog says:

that may be the worst tactical analysis of arsenal ive ever heard. i agree we need a lb but the rest is pure nonsense.

  • barbes says:

for arsenal youth policy i suggest Ayew but for the current situation at the club i think Tevez will be the best option meanwhile, arsenal still need a play maker like jadson to replace cesc.

  • ojekoya Dolapo w says:

wenger shld now sign a good replacement for cesc b4 our next match against liverpool as for nasri if he want to stay let him stay if he want to leave as well let him go, no player is bigger dan a club, player go player come. For tevez we dont need a player dt his heart is not in england but his home country i know it will sound funny but quote me when d time come, come may 2012 arsenal will win d premiarship my prophecy always come true so all gunners around d world be rest asure @ least one cup again one cup is sure dis season

  • MOHAMED says:

acording to me arsenwenger mast leave arsenal couse he is not the coach of footbal
he is financial coach, if he dnt wont as to win cups and compit our naiber team. we have look another coach that is bater, we are the the reachest clup in all the clups, we r losser or seven years again?

  • Wenger,buy good players for arsenal to win trophies.sir kbo2 shinkafa,bauchi-nigeria.

  • Thorny says:

Some body please help me and answer this question.
    (at the bottom)

2 months ago we could sell cesc for £30mill +

So 2 months ago we could have bought to replace

By now we would have a team member who has played a bit with the squad. We would have bought him with the lure of champs league football along with other things.

This means we might have beaten Newcastle and I wouldnt be shitting myself about Udinese.

Now we have sold cesc for the same amount and wasted 2 months and have NO replacement and could lose against Udinese!!

If we lose and can not offer champs league how do we lure cesc like players? we dont.

We get second rate players and a downward spiral of form starts and its anyones guess after that.

Here it is….WHY DID WE TAKE 2 MONTHS AND THEN SELL OUR BEST PLAYER RIGHT BEFORE A MUST WIN MATCH FOR THE SAME £ ?????

I CAN NOT FATHOM IT AT ALL. THE RISK HERE IS MONSTROUS!

    • Geoffrey says:

You guys really think Arsene was just on this transfer. What about this transfer was perfect 2 month ago but Arsene could not find the right Player (You have to watch Prize over Quality, this is how it works in ourdays..) and Barca made too much pressure to go to the media??

What we REALLY need, and this goes over EVERY PLAYER, is that we are all close to our Club, Team and Arsene. We have to show in this dark moment that we trust him, trust the team and trust the club.

There will be the right signings before this transfer window closes, but there will not be a C. Ronaldo or a Messi. Remember this sad moment that we have now, and we only have it because we are panicing, when we will have a great season. Just relax and let the boss handle it..

IF I WERE ALL OF YOU, EVERYTIME MAKE SOME STUPID COMMENTS ABOUT ARSENE WENGER I WOULD BE SOOOOOOO ASHAMED.

IN ARSENE WE HAVE TO TRUST..

  • Aminu gandy says:

This summer Arsenal need striker like carlos teves pls Arsenal management should look in to the possibility of bringing such striker to make the club better than any english club

  • ABU says:

Lets forget Fabrigas and Nassir. I hope the rest of team members they can perform better. We only need Tevez and Cahill to shut down our main opponents. Thanks Wenger for releasing the money riders on our team. We shall not forget the back pass Fabrigas contributed to Barca on our last match.

  • Kingston says:

Andre is a good replacement for nasri. Remember was our playmaker at U20 tour.
