Valencia are sticking to their €30million (£26.4million) price tag on in-demand winger Juan Mata, according to reports in Spain.

The Spain international is a reported target for Chelsea, with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger having ruled his club out of the running at the weekend.

Tottenham expressed an interest earlier in the summer, but their pursuit has since cooled due to the excessive asking price.

    • TheMonk says:

Sorry, forgot to put his name in..Mata

  • Bouba says:

Eden Hazard, Mauro Zarate and a CB ( may be another LB ) would be perfect.

Is it really going to happen? Yeah right, I don’t think so…!!

  • John B says:

It has to be MATA and Cahill. Stop f*##^^%$# around Wenger and take a title for us. It’s not just about a business but also a payback to loyal fans who spend plenty on season tickets and supporters attire. Mad Gooner South Africa

  • not gunner fan anymore says:

i decided not to invest in any arsenal shirts this season unless arsen spends big on at least 2 players! i’m in the market for an AC milan or Real Madrid shirt this season or even Barca shirt!
i have really gone off the gunners this season sorry!

    • Pete says:

Then you cannot call yourself a fan of Arsenal. Loyalties are clearly to yourself so go get a Man Utd, Barca. Real Madrid, Man City & Chelsea shirt to hedge your bets.

You’ll be all the brag on silverware each year…but it comes at a cost. You sold your soul. Bye bye you sad ex gooner.

You never saw us when we were crap, standing on a pissing cold day on the N.Bank hoping something would kick off just to give us a laugh because we were bored but still LOVED the club.

This message goes out to all you NEW gooners (post 2003) who have only known good times. 90% of you lot are deriding the best CLUB (not just TEAM) Manager we have ever had. He has transformed us in every way and we will be the richest SELF SUSTAINING club in Europe in 5 years by a country mile once financial rules kick in properly and are refined to kick out the HIGHLY QUESTIONABLE money and characters running (eg) Chelsea & Man City et al.

When Money laundering rules kick into football, as they surely will when it suits the powers that be, bye bye City, bye Bye Chelsea – teams with no history and soon to have a forgotten short spell of a chapter in some period known as 2006 – 2015.

1886 and pushing the boundarties ever since.

Gooner for ever – never expect to own the trophy – proud to fight for it when I can…
