[Rumour Rater] Arsenal Transfer News, 22/08: Kaka and Yann M’Vila

Written by James on August 22, 2011 – 4:45

The Gunning Hawk - ForumRicardo Izecson dos Santos Leite - Kaka

Just like last season, The Gunning Hawk will bring you every day throughout the summer one article with the most creative and sensational Arsenal transfer rumours. To know more about this section and for how long it will be online, kindly visit our forum.

August 22

It is not easy to understand what is going on at Arsenal but with only one goal scored so far, two conceded and only one win registered in three games, it seems that new players are a must.

According to Metro, manager Arsene Wenger is ready to make a move for Real Madrid’s Kaka. With the Arsenal midfield lacking in creativity after the departure of Cesc Fabregas and with the Brazilian not in Jose Mourinho’s plans, a loan move for the former AC Milan star sounds like a clever move by the Gunners although it seems that Chelsea are also interested in the 29-year old.

In other news, Mirror Football believes that France international Yann M’Vila is one of Arsenal’s targets ahead of the last few days of the summer transfer window. The 21-year old is apparently available for £10m and when we asked our readers for a first opinion on the youngster last month, their response was quite positive with more than 650 votes for the player.

And before moving on to today’s poll, a look at Thursday’s results in which we collected more than 2,000 votes and with Peter Odemwingie getting more than 750 positive votes and Moussa Sow getting more, almost 900.

As always, please let us know your preference on today’s linked players and don’t be shy to join the discussion in our newly-launched Arsenal forum.

An agreement has been reached with Valencia CF for the transfer to Chelsea of midfielder Juan Manuel Mata.
The move is now subject to the player passing a medical and agreeing personal terms. WTF arsene wenger!

  • ketexs says:

puros rumores de arsenal ,que lo aga y no numas puro BLAH,BLAH,BLAH,BLAH,BLAH,BLAH YA STOAMOS ARTO D PURAS PINCHIS PROMESAS CON STE GERENTE arsen werger

  • lekan says:

u ppl should stop debating on what is not possible because we all no that wenger can not avoid to pay d price

  • sam says:

can we afford kaka? unless madrid agree to wave the fee to get him off their payroll then we can negotiate. although he might take time to settle he’s sure a gamble worth taking if he wants to join.
i am not sure about yann m’vila, with frimpong promoted it looks like we only gonna need to replace cesc and nasri with kaka( if its true), eden hazard and a striker will do.

  • pdxArsenal says:

I have hard feeling that Arsenal is moving to rebuilding process again after Cesc and Nasri departure. We do not have a sugar-daddy for huge investments but we have a coach who recognizes young talents so here we go. Resent aquasitons of young players confirms this. Bad thing that Arsenal might loose some fun base so they do not announce this. But here is a clever move: Arsenal want to loan Kaka, not buy him just to entertain us menawhile. I think I will not be shocked if RVP and Arshavin will depart soon.
We have very exciting youngsters: Wilshere, Ramsey, Walcott, Miyachi, Frimpong, Campbell, Chamberlain, Szczesney, Vela, Jenkinson, Lansbury – what an exciting team in 2-3 years. What, I thought we have not finished prevous rebuilding process.

    • wicky says:

Not interested in what ifs and maybes, It’s time to splash the cash speculate to accumulate. It’s pointless bleating to UEFA about how these “sugar daddy” clubs are financed they have hot shot legal teams and creative accountants to get round any level playing field legislation.
Spend the cash and get Kaka in to inject some craft into our midfileld, the shirt sales and sponsership money would cover his wages!
PS Work on your spelling PDX..

  • sam says:

we learn from the past 3 games that the defence is being fixed and have done well despite liverpool defeat.
we need new signing in the midfield, the real problem we have now is in attack. only one goal in 3 games. we are witnessing arshavin horror show , van persie playing as a lone striker and walcott marked out of game. i am afraid one big signing is needed up front if we are going to stick to 4-3-3 then van persie on the left, new striker in the middle and walcott/gervinho on the right. we won’t go anywhere with arshavin, bendtner and chamakh personally i had enough of them. arsenal fc need to give these 3 their p45 unless you wish to suffer again.

    • Berk Face says:

I don’t know about that – Udinese had lots of chances and Newcastle/Liverpool weren’t attacking until they had a man advantage.

Szczesny & Vermaelen are excellent – Sagna good defensively – the rest are suspect

  • Arsenal 4 Life says:

Great moves if they happen, M’vila will give us a physical presence in the midfield and kaka could be a dream pick up, it will give our current youngsters time to grow and adapt to the game plus they will learn from kaka! I hope both of these signings materialize. Hazard would also be a dream pick up alongside Dann or Cahill.

  • sam says:

man city conceded 2 goals just like us but still walked away with 3 points.
60 minutes into the game the opposition defence is not broken, arshavin still on the pitch, van persie is lost upfront how can you expect to win the game? i even forgot walcott was playing.

    • Berk Face says:

Every game the same old story isn’t it, not enough people getting in the box. They seem to love that middle third where the opposition generally say fine you can have the ball there…

  • nadh says:

kaka has a great ability to score goles and more its a great opportunity to our team

  • Aussie Jack says:

If you put Mickey Mouse to the vote right now he`d get my nod.

  • Asefa w/Mariam says:

    Dear Arsenal fans,

I realy don`t know which premier league club Arsenal could win by this squad.,
Winger killed Arsenal , funeral ceremony left.

What ever the reason from the gunner side is not acceptable, Unless, we see on the play ground.

  • bedilu says:

kakakakakakakaaaaa!!wenger will not buy kaka!rather he will search for 1million pound player!

  • Emongolem says:

Am waiting for the reality to come true….Kaka, Harzard,Metesacker,Phil .J…..I will be very happy for that and Arsenal as a team will be the true, GUNNERS!!!!!!!

  • Emongolem says:

    Not forgetting ZARATE

  • Ayoade Ayomide says:

Just so you know,we d Nigerian Fans are dying slowly.Arsenal that i know plays good football and i’ve been a fan since 1998.Arsene Wenger,i dunno if you’re gon get dis,but pls do something about the defence, its lacking. We dont need anything Midfield,we have players to build.Since we have Gervinho to support RV,Then think about our defence.
    Gunners 4 Life

  • vv gooner says:

honestly, I don’t think arsene has the balls to to pay 30m to sign kaka, although kaka would be THE perfect signing for us. he’s a true leader, and at the age of 29 he would be one of the few experienced players in our squad. I mean, after all, he was the best player in the world 3-4 years ago right :)
no comment on the french guy. never heard of him before…

  • Jonah says:

10m for M’vila? Is that why Rennes have already rejected a 20m euro bid from us? I highly doubt either of these happen. I heard this morning that we have bid 20m for Eden Hazard though hopefully something comes out of that today.

  • steve says:

Don’t get excited you Arsenal supporters,”WENGER WILL BUY NOTHING”,only young boys. ” I WISH SOMEONE WOULD BUY WENGER”.

  • kyei says:

it seems uptill now ppl can not see wenger for the man he is…KAKA? he had less expensive players he snubbed..lets face fact wenger wont do anytin, lets stop raising our hopes and brace ourselves for a hell of a season…we r doomed..gud luck next season…

  • Myo Thant (Myanmar) says:

I am one of Arsenal fans in Myanmar, I like this team since !998 at which I started to watch the football matches .The 1st match of Arsenal which I support is Arsenal 3-0 Manchester United (1998). Nowadays, Arsenal is so different and they need many players to be title of competitions. Many people are saying that Arsenal need good substitutes, but I think Arsenal already have good substitutes ,actually they do not get the main key players that means the first line up is not perfect. I suggest Arsenal needs a good play maker in the position of center or attacking midfielder like Hamsik(Napoli),Oezil(Real Madrid),Montolivo(Fiorentina) or the player like them, a good left wing player like Gareth Bale (Tottenham),Krasic(Juventus),Micheal Bastos(Lyon),Andrey Ayew(Gana)or the player like them, a perfect striker like Gilardino(Fiorentina),Suarez(Liverpool),Cavani(Napoli),J.Henandez(Manchester United), Gyan Asamoah(Sunderland) or other player like them-the perfect means the striker must be a good jumper and header and must be physically strong like Drogba because crossing balls were mostly diminished and a good defender-I satisfy their targets such as Cahil(Bolton), Samba(Blackburn) but Richard(Manchester
city) ,Friedrich(Wolfburg) or David Luiz may be more suitable.Whatever Arsenal will be, I will be an Arsenal fan forever until the time that I die.

    • Patrick O'Neill says:

Welcome Myo didn’t know you got English matches in Myanmar (Burma) but you are right we need, we need, we need but try telling that to AW – Oh I forgot, he doesn’t listen to the fans.

  • Patrick O'Neill says:

I’ve heard that we are swapping Bentdner for Mertsecker – any truth in that particular rumour.

  • jason says:

Guys we are not getting Kaka LOL

  • bertrand says:

let just hope for a good season, if not lets prepare had with regards to next seasons

  • mzeey says:

if we get kaka on a loan deal im ok with it, plus hazard plus cahill and sow and are injuris recover faster well be good to go, but i dont think the club will mange to sign four players with the time we have, another thing we are the most club to have injuris in are team its on of the top reasons we lost silverware carling cup good example the club should make a study on that

    • Berk Face says:

the money’s there, always has been, we always knew certain players would be leaving, lots of wages cleared off the wage bill… and nothing has been done about it

    • Alex B says:

We won’t get Hazard AND Sow. We’ve already bought Gervinho from Lille, they would never sell the three of these players in the same transfer window. They’d literally go from winning the French league to being relegated the next season. If I’m not mistaken they’ve already sold Cabaye, Rami and Gervinho. I think they’re done selling. Only a monster bid for Hazard may prise him away, which makes me doubt that we’ll be getting him.

    • Hass says:

Are you joking or something. Do you really think Lille will let one club take three of their best players in one transfer period let alone one season? But I agree about the injuries.
At this point ot the transfer window, anyone over 20 would be a good signing for Arsenal.

  • reese says:

we need one or two CB mvila or samba also a LB bains or CM honda or hazard ST kaka or benzema simple

  • young gunner says:

As a teenager now, I just caught a glimpse of the glory days with Henry, Vierra, Berkgamp, Pires and the unbeaten season, I long of those days now.

I read yesterday that if Arsene leaves, except for Alex Ferguson and Mourinho, who out there is better? No one.
I think that it is up to the board to get in two people to encourage Arsene to splash the cash. Arsene himself probably knows exactly who he needs and I would be surprised if he signs anyone in this window. I respect his judgement however I think the influence of one or two people behind him, coaxing him to spend the millions in the bank would go a long way.

I can’t make sense of why he spent £10m on Oxlade-Chamberlain when players like Diarra apparently going for £6m.

Judged on our performance against Liverpool, it is remarkable what Arsene has done with a not so talented and experienced squad.

I am doubtful he will sign anyone before the transfer window shuts but I am hopeful for the sake of our Champions League ambitions that he does.

  • Bouba says:

For the last time, Benzema WILL NEVER COME TO Arsenal… He is a major asset in the Real Madrid machine… Stop mentioning his name… Why would he come to a seemingly sinking ship???

The magazine l”Equipe has confirmed that Arsenal is in the frame for a loan move regarding Kaka. The player speaks a very good english and his wife too and he wants to revive his career ( I am just quoting the magazine ), but the blocking point are his wages ( well, we’ve figured that one out, of course ).

So, with our “very cheap” pockets, we are in trouble, unless Real Madrid were willing to take half of it ( which they might be willing to do ).

Regarding the M’Vila case, first of, Rennes has put the release clause to £20 millions, but they will be willing to sale for £15 millions ( which we have, get my drift :-) ).

I think that Jagielka will be too expensive for Arsenal ( £17 millions ), but Samba seems affordable for £12 millions and a wage of £50,000 a week.

Basically, and we have been posting comments for months about that, if Wenger does not buy anybody, that’s because he does not want to and believe his squad his strong enough ( all the specialists are thinking different and they can not be all wrong ) or he does not have access to more funds ( which I doubt )

Those 3 inexperienced youngsters ( Jenkinson, Chamberlain and Campbell ) can not be our only recruits… That would be suicidal .

  • khan says:

aw is the best manager in the premirship and possibly, no really one of the best in the world at the mo. H e nows what we need and i hope that he will sign a couple of big players we need someone like KAKA or Tevez in our club we have had no big player in current times that was recognisd by the world as a class player we gunners need to put a stamped envelope to the premirship teams with a few big wins over the toughest teams i.e chelsea man u man city.

Ti do this we need kaka a brilliant midfilder and a superb defender if we make this move towards these 3 players now we will not need to sign anyone in the next 2 or 3 years in that time our teenagers will be growing into men and thus a unbeatable team. ARSENAL PLAYERS be faithful to wenger and opt for kaka, samba, and hazard. thats the formula we need so badly please. AW PLEASE SIGN SOME OF THESE PLAYERS. Every DAY I LOOK AT THE SUN TO GET SOME GOOD GUNNER NEWS AND VERY DAY A BIT MORE DISAPPOINTED. AW DIRECTORS NEED TO GET THE ACT TOGETHER FOR THE CLUBS SAKE AND THE FOR THE SAKE OF ALL GUNNER SUPPORTERS NOW. DO SOMETHING NOW. PLEASE

  • bexter says:

haha kaka in dreamland maybe but lets be realistic wenger needs to get players who can take us to the next level now not ten years time we need players like hazard, cahill, parker

  • Gunner says:

I would say no to Kaka, if he is so good why is he not in the Real Madrid team? Pay that money for a 29 yr old? I hope not.
M Vila, yes, Arsenal need some demolition in midfield and he could provide it
Hazard yes also! Problem is Nasri? What is up with this guy? Is he going or staying? Figure it out and go will you? If he left, that would tell Wenger exactly where to strengthen and would free up the money for Hazard, and then there would be plenty left to buy M Vila, and an assassin at center back, Wenger is right about Jagielka, 18 million is too much for a player of that age. Samba would be my choice, or Mertsacker, he is older I think but would be more affordable then say Jagielka who is a similar age.
Scott Dann, how good is he? Not sure really!
Problem has been Fabregas and Nasri? Were they going or not? Arsenal were waiting to see what they would do and of course they ’stalled’ on the decision making! Now Wenger is running out of time and he still does not know if he has to replace Nasri or not.
You know what, Sell him anyway, and get Hazard. If he cant figure out if he wants to play for City or United, or stay

  • Mustafa Khan says:

At least in news it’ll be published that ARSENAL Have the power to bring
Experienced and top Star , which is our dream and cant come true till we have
mr wenger as our manager , He may probably sign kaka’s Son in 2023
