Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski believes young Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is ready to make his Premier League debut after impressing in training.
Speaking to Arsenal Player, the Poland International confessed that he knows very little of Costa Rica’s Joel Campbell but spent enough time with Oxlade-Chamberlain to understand that he’s a very good signing for the Gunners as he’s good on the ball, did well in training and likes the Arsenal style of football.
On the departure of Cesc Fabregas, the 26-year old declared that it’s a massive loss as the Catalan was a player who used to produce assists and score goals for the Gunners with the goalkeeper expecting other players to now step up and take responsibility.
On new signings and departures, Fabianski said:
[Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joel Campbell?] To be honest, I didn’t see much of the boy [Joel] Campbell because he only joined us for the last two days and it was more recover training for the players so I cannot say a lot about him.
About Alex, you know, they’re both young, he is a very talented player, good on the ball, has great abilities, I think he’ll be a great addition to the squad and I’m really looking forward to seeing them in action.
[If he's ready for Premier League action?] I think so, I look at him at training, looks pretty decent, you can see that he’s good on the ball, he likes to play the passing game, that’s good for us, for Arsenal, he’s a great addition.
[Cesc Fabregas' departure?] He was a massive player for us, he always delivered that final ball, now we have to split the work amongst other players, they have to take more responsibility on their shoulders.
Players like Jack [Wilshere], Aaron Ramsey, Tomas Rosicky, they have to step up more because Cesc was a great player for us and every single season he had like twenty assists, scoring lots of goals, it’s a big miss.
