Ignasi Miquel eager to improve, happy with best week of his life

Arsenal defender Ignasi Miquel confessed he knew very little of what was going on around him when he made his Premier League debut, last week, against Liverpool.
Speaking to Arsenal Player, the Spaniard was full of praise for team-mate Thomas Vermaelen, by him described as a massive asset for the Arsenal defence with the Belgium International ending the game against the Reds as one of the best players on the pitch after giving no breathing space to dangerous striker Andy Carroll.
Asked about Aaron Ramsey’s own goal, Miquel confessed it was an unlucky goal to concede but was mature and honest enough to admit that he could have done better with the clearance and that he’s ready to learn from mistakes.
Ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League game against Manchester United, the 18-year old concluded by saying that it would be amazing if he makes the squad for Manchester as he said that the Gunners can cause a major upset by beating Sir Alex Ferguson’s men.
On the last seven days, Miquel said:
[Liverpool?] To be fair, I didn’t realise I was playing Premier League [football] until it was like half time because it all went so quickly when I came on.
[Thomas Vermaelen's help?] It was massive, makes me look even better, I was doing alright but he was there, he was defending well, he was fighting all the balls against Carroll, he was winning everything and that makes the defence look solid, makes the defence look better and he’s a massive help for me.
[The first goal?] I just remember, I think [Raul] Meireles making the pass to [Luis] Suarez, I intercepted, I was just thinking to clear it but unfortunately it went to Aaron [Ramsey] and it went in. That’s one thing I have to forget about my debut, I think it was quite unlucky.
Next time, I’m going to learn from it. After, when you look at the goal again, you see things that you could have done better so next time, if I’m in the same situation, I’ll try not to do the same.
[Like what?] I can clear with my right foot instead of my left foot or I can see Suarez behind me so I could take a touch outside and then clear, things that when you are there are hard to think about.
I would be delighted if I make the [Manchester United] squad, one of my best weeks in my life, making my debut against Liverpool, travel for Udinese and now go to Old Trafford, that would be incredible for me, I would love it.
[If we stand a chance?] We showed on Wednesday, one nil down, I think everyone was thinking, ‘Arsenal will lose again’ but we did it, we won the game and we went through. At Old Trafford it will be a really hard game but we can do it.
