Arsenal striker Chu Young Park is ready to use World Cup Qualifiers against Lebanon and Kuwait to reach a good fitness level in order to be ready to play for the Gunners.
Speaking to Arsenal Player before the Gunners signed Per Mertesacker, Mikel Arteta, Yossi Benayoun and Andre Santos on the last day of the summer transfer window, the South Korean explained that the Gunners possess one of the best teams in England adding that it is a dream to be a Gunner and very proud to be part of Arsene Wenger’s squad.
Asked if he knows any of the current players, the 26-year old explained that he of course knows Gervinho from the French League, revealing that the two spoke last week with the Ivory Coast International saying that he is very happy to be at the Club.
On his favourite position, Park confirmed that he is a pure striker who plays in a central position as he concluded by saying that he is ready to work hard to adapt to the strong and fast style of English football.
Ahead of the new season, he said:
[The current squad?] I think they are one of the best teams. It really is a dream to be here and I’m very, very proud to be an Arsenal player. Now, I just want to show how good I am and prove myself.
[If I know any players?] No, I don’t know any of the players personally, but I played against Gervinho in the French League. I’ve seen him since I came to the training ground and he talked to me and told me he is very happy since coming to Arsenal. He is the only player I know though.
Gervinho played for Lille and they were a very difficult team to play against. I played for Monaco and it was difficult for us. Last year, Lille were the Champions and they gave us a very difficult game.
[My best position?] The position I feel most comfortable in is up front, I feel very comfortable as a striker.
[How long to settle down?] I didn’t have a full pre-season but I have two games for the national team so I expect my condition to improve very quickly. After that, I will come here and make sure I get to my peak condition so that I’m ready to play for Arsenal.
[The different between the French League and English football?] I’ve heard from many players who play in England and they say English football is very strong and very fast too. The French League is almost the same because it is very tough as well with quick players. I feel that I need to concentrate on my skills, so I can fit in with the Arsenal style of play.

I prefer the “Buckaroo position” – it’s the same as the doggy position, except that you scream out another woman’s name half way through and see how long you can hang on for. Try it!
