Cesc to take legal action? – Frimpong hails Arteta – Bendtner learning and adapting

Before we get into today’s news, a brief follow-up to yesterday’s Cesc Fabregas story. Guillem Balague has reported via twitter that Cesc has begun to take steps to sue Sport Magazine for making up the article in question. He has been in touch with lawyers on the matter, and I think it’s safe to suggest that the article was, in fact, made up.
Moving on, Nicklas Bendtner has gone back on his previous desire to never ever return to Arsenal. The Danish striker amended his statement, saying that he would need assurances from Arsene Wenger that he would be given regular playing time.
“It’s very different from London, but you just have to learn and adapt. I have rented a good house and am probably going to spend most of my time there, as I did in London, and then spend time with my family when I am not playing football, so it’s going to be okay.
One thing for sure is that I want to play football. I do not want to do what I have been doing before. If it’s going to be the same way I would rather not go back,” said Bendtner.
It seems to always be a case of the grass being greener at Emirates for so many players who earlier couldn’t wait to leave Arsenal. I think most of us have written Bendtner off, assuming that he will not be returning to Arsenal. All I can say is, wait and see. Maybe a year of first team football will do wonders for him, maybe it won’t.
If he sets the Premiership on fire this year, we may be dying to bring him back, and Arsene may be able to assure his spot. I’ll not hold my breath, though.
Elsewhere, Arsenal are set to take on Blackburn this weekend, with Rovers fans set to demonstrate against the fact that manager Steve Kean is still allowed on the premises. Aaron Ramsey has passed a late fitness test, and will be available.
I don’t wish ill on other clubs but it’s nice to see that Arsenal are not the club with manager issues, for a change. Ramsey may very well be fit, but I’d leave him out, we have options in the midfield now, there is no point to rushing Aaron back and risking a flare up.
And finally, midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has hailed the signing of Mikel Arteta and has declared that he thinks “it is good to have more Spanish players in the team.”
I think that Arteta coming in a good thing,” the 19-year-old midfielder told Sky Sports News. “He is a great player.
“Since he has been here (at the Emirates), he has been giving me some advice on how to defend and play better. I think it is good to have more Spanish players in the team.”
I would respectfully suggest to Frimpong that it’s Arteta’s experience, not his Spanish-ness, which makes him a valuable addition to this squad. Arteta has settled fairly quickly, and it’s great to hear that he has no reservations about taking young players under his wing and helping them along. Arsenal desperately need our boys to become men, and players like Arteta and Benayoun have been there, done that in the Premiership, and will help this process tremendously.
