The Gunning Hawk - ForumArsene Wenger

As revealed yesterday, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger included a mixture of youth and experience for the Carling Cup game against Shrewsbury Town.

Tonight’s game will be a good opportunity for fans to check out promising youngster such as Sanchez Watt and Francis Coquelin with the latter already involved with the senior squad this season when the Gunners travelled to Old Trafford at the end of last month.

New signings Chu Young Park, Ryo Miyaichi, Yossi Benayoun and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all expected to feature with Poland’s Lukasz Fabianski finally making his return in goal after a frustrating season last year in which he was forced to give up his number one position after suffering a shoulder injury.

The 18-man for Shrewsbury follows:

Chuks Aneke
Yossi Benayoun
Daniel Boateng
Marouane Chamakh
Francis Coquelin
Johan Djourou
Lukasz Fabianski
Emmanuel Frimpong
Kieran Gibbs
Carl Jenkinson
Damian Martinez
Ignasi Miquel
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Oguzhan Ozyakup
Chu Young Park
Ryo Miyaichi
Sanchez Watt
Nico Yennaris

Mate, you are very wrong. yeah, we all know how bad things are at the emirates presently, but asking to play all those players when we complain that they struggled against blackburn because of the champions league mid week game.
Its shrewsbury Town that we are playing for Christ sake. the line up is good enough to get a win against them. Which ever way the win goes, the selection is the right one considering the squad he has.

    • Toni Ton says:

In addition, He will want to have another look at all the young players because presently there is little or nothing to even say about the older ones.

I don’t even know what to say or expect anymore. It’s nice to finally see miyaichi, chamberlain and park make the full debut. But the inclusion of Dj is what i cant stand anymore.Looking at all the pre-season games we lose or drawn, our defence ultimately collapses whenever Dj is introduced. This is the opposite of Dj that we had seen last season.I hope his inclusion do not cause more harm than good to our exciting young boys who want to prove a point.
I pray we dont lose today,as I dont seems to know why on earth will arsene filled in about 80% young players, known fully well the current state of the club and the this is the only trophy we can for now dream to lift.

Lets KEEP THE FAITH and pray for the better.

    OKACHI.

    LOL!!!!!

ONLY one player in this 18 man squad has EVER scored a goal for Arsenals first team…..and that is Chamakh!!

OK, maybe Djourou scored once too but if you deduct his own goals he’s in negative figures!!

So, we will be lucky if we score tonight with this team.

As we have seen for months now, we will be lucky if we dont concede any goals against ANY opposition….and by any, I mean ANY…Hanzhou Town did it.

So, no goals scored v goals conceded = YET ANOTHER LOSS UNDER WENGERS BELT. I CANNOT WAIT FOR US TO LOSE TONIGHT SO WENGER FINALLY LEAVES, PLEASE BE GONE. NOW.

OK, I’m an Arsenal Supporter! That means I’ll be biased when discussing any football issues. How a supposed Arsenal supporter can hope for Arsenal to lose is beyond me. I usually get physical sick when we lose or play badly.

I am however, surprised with the team selection. AW stated that it would be a mix of youth and experience and I assumed that it would be experience in an Arsenal shirt.

I was expecting to see a starting line up of 4-6 first choice players and the other half being youngsters.

I hope there are some people eating their comments right now. I wish I have a list because at the end of the season I suspect there will be many so called fans with egg n their faces as the club bounces back from this bad start. By the way I expect it to be bad for a few more matches.
