Yossi Benayoun on his favourite position and the possibility of staying permanently

Arsenal’s Yossi Benayoun believes the best is yet to come as he just entered the “perfect” age for a midfielder.
Speaking to Arsenal Player, the Israel International explained that the likes of Frank Lampard of Chelsea and Stephen Gerrard of Liverpool show that midfielders are at their best after they turn thirty with the 31-year old also saying that his near-future objective is to do well with the Gunners hoping to secure a permanent deal at the end of the season.
Asked about his favourite position, the former Liverpool and Chelsea man said that he can play in any position at the middle of the pitch as the Champions League game in Dortmund showed where he was utilised in the centre but also on both wings, in the second half.
An unused sub against Blackburn Rovers last week, Benayoun was on target for the Gunners on Tuesday as he scored the third and final goal in the Carling Cup game against Shrewsbury Town.
On his favourite position and the loan spell, the 31-year old said:
[How many years left in me?] I hope I have a few more. 31, I think, in some countries is a bit old but in England I think is the eye of your career, there is still a few years in front of you.
You can see a lot of great players like [Frank] Lampard and [Stephen] Gerrard who are more or less the same age so I’m sure I have a few more years to play.
[Staying after the loan?] Of course, I think any player would want to do it but for me now the main thing is to concentrate to do a good season.
And to try, you know, any opportunity that I will get, to do my best, to take it with two hands and I’m sure if I do well the connection will continue with this club, hopefully but I’m just trying to concentrate on this season.
[My favourite position?] I enjoy to play in any position but of course I get the opportunity to play in different ones.
I started in Germany [against Borussia Dortmund] in the middle, most of the game, then a little bit on the left, a little bit on the right [but] I try to do my best in any position.
