At the age of 30, Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky is ready to be one of the main leaders of Arsene Wenger’s squad as he revealed that the players are hungry for trophies.
Speaking to Arsenal Player, the Czech Republic International started by explaining that he always admired the way the Gunners played under Arsene Wenger adding that he wasn’t concerned when he joined during the Highbury to Emirates transition, a difficult moment for the Club as they were forced to sell important players like Robert Pires and Ashley Cole.
On how important his experience is for the squad, the midfielder explained that he is fully aware of the fact that he needs to help the young players adding that his job is to follow the instructions of the Frenchman and to hopefully not disappoint.
Rosicky concluded by saying that in its 125th year, the Club deserves to win a trophy as he explained that the players are hungry and desperate to end a six-year trophyless crisis.
On trophies, the Czech said:
Since I was at Dortmund I started to like the way Arsenal was playing, the style of football that Arsenal try to play.
[When I signed] it wasn’t a big thing that the Club itself was changing [with the departure of important players], for me I didn’t look at it that way, I just wanted to come here and be part of it.
I know that I’m almost the oldest one here, I want obviously to help the young players, I know what the boss is expecting from me and I just don’t want to disappoint him.
[This season?] The players are, I would say, hungry, they are desperate to win something.
The team wants that plus the Club in such a history moment [the 125 years] so I can assure you that the squad will fight for every trophy this year.
