Szczesny: We want Top Four and to possibly fight for the championship

The Gunning Hawk - ForumWojciech Szczesny

Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is aware of Arsenal’s poor start to the season but will never give up as he believes the Gunners can end the season in the Top Four.

Speaking after last Sunday’s defeat against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane, the Poland International explained that the players know that they are well behind leaders Manchester United and Manchester City adding that however every team in the English Premier League will sooner or later go through a difficult period and drop important points.

Asked what the players should do to bounce back, the 21-year old declared that they should work hard to improve their performances, to take it one game at a time and make sure not to drop any more points in the title race.

Szczesny concluded by saying that the Arsenal fans deserve better, they deserve to support a team that is fighting for a Top Four finish and why not, also for the Premiership crown.

After the North London Derby, the goalkeeper said:

Of course we are behind in the race because we have lost four games and the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United have lost none.

We are behind at the moment but I believe every single team in the league will have a period of time when they play poorly.

We have had a poor start but I believe we can kick on with the season after the international break.

We need to focus on winning every single game now. We have to take it game by game and make sure we stick together and improve our performances.

We want to give ourselves the best chance of finishing high up in the table, gaining top four and possibly fighting for the championship.

I hope we can get to the level we need to as soon as possible because the club deserves better. The fans [on Sunday] were fantastic and deserve better than they saw. I hope we can improve as soon as possible.

Of all the Arsenal players Vs. Spurs, Wojo cannot bee blambed for the loss. Yes Walkers goal was a silly mistake, but if he saved us atleast 3 times before that I believe.

We need Tommy back. And then Jack back. Then we have a chance to get Top 4

We are truly blessed to have Schezzer as a member of this team. Particularly during the turmoil the Arsenal organization has experienced in 2011, last season and the start of this season, his outstanding goaltending has allowed the team to be competitive in virtually every game they have played. An outstanding athlete, his positive energy and enthusiasm at being a member of the Gunners, game in and game out, is a joy to behold in an otherwise grim situation.

Whatever you do Arsene DO NOT LOSE THIS BOY like you have done with some of our other young stars. He is “special”……

Is it just me or is chezzer is becoming like the old man Wenger. He’s like in the media 10 times a day!

  • Bouba says:

    I agree Mikster…
Our players perform better in front of the microphone…!!
