Tomas Rosicky: Why I didn’t turn to watch Sebastian Larsson’s winning free-kick

Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky has finally revealed why he didn’t dare to look backwards when Sebastian Larsson scored the equalising goal, for Sunderland, on Sunday.
Many asked why the Czech International reacted the way he did when the free-kick was taken with the midfielder quick to explain that he knew that the Swede was going to deliver a perfect shot and how therefore he didn’t have to turn around to check the outcome of the execution.
The 31-year old added that he was surprised at the reaction of many as he has been a Gunner for six years and is fully committed to the Arsenal cause.
On a possible Top Four finish, Rosicky concluded by saying that it’s not mission impossible for the Gunners as there is still a lot to play for although the players, according to the experienced midfielder, have to fight hard in each and every remaining game this season.
After yesterday’s 2-1 win, Rosicky said:
That wasn’t a laugh – it was a desperate laugh that such a screamer would be scored again. I don’t have to turn around.
When I see his face and he is celebrating, why should I turn around? I have been here six years and anyone who thinks I would laugh at that, for people to take it that way is frankly unbelievable
It was a very difficult start for us but the season is very long and I don’t feel it is impossible for us [to finish in the top four].
Every game is very difficult and you have to fight hard. The season is long and there are so many points to play for.
Arsenal is a great club that always has to play for the top four. Even if we started badly, it must still be our aim.
