Arsenal will tomorrow face Stoke City at home with some injury concerns as both Bacary Sagna and Carl Jenkinson are out injured.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, manager Arsene Wenger confirmed that 19-year old Jenkinson is ruled out after picking up a knee injury during Wednesday’s Champions League game away from home against Marseille and will be ruled out for at least two weeks with Johan Djourou or Laurent Koscielny to take over on the right wing.
On Thomas Vermaelen, the Frenchman confirmed that the Belgium International resumed full training yesterday morning and will also make his long-awaited comeback in approximately two weeks, hopefully in time to face Chelsea.
As for midfielder Abou Diaby and left-back Kieran Gibbs, Wenger concluded by saying that they will incidentally also be back in two weeks with the manager confirming that there are no fresh injury worries after the mid-week game in France.
On Friday, Wenger said:
[Carl Jenkinson?] It is a minor injury but it is two weeks out, he will miss the next two games against Stoke and Bolton, has a little chance for Chelsea.
[Who will replace hm] is something I have to sort out, I have not decided yet. Koscielny and Djourou [are the options], basically.
[Thomas Vermaelen] will be back in full training on Friday. It is 10 days to two weeks for him.
[Abou Diaby] is getting better but is not available to play yet. He’s probably back in around two weeks – he is just a fraction behind Vermaelen.
[If he will be rushed back?] No, I’m happy that he’s back and that he has, of course, extended his contract.
But competition is in every position, we have a big squad but still, happy to have him back so quickly.
[Kieran Gibbs] is nothing bad but he is one or two weeks out. [But] Other than Carl Jenkinson, everyone else came through well from the win in Marseille.

i agree its not about money, but, every competitive sport is about winning not just competing for the sake.so,wenger should also get replacements for injury prone players because they give you false hope, they always get injured when needed most e.g vermaelen, not saying he should be sold, diaby very dominant with a run of games but always injured,we need reliable players and depth so we can start believing and pushing for trophies again
