Arsene Wenger on the Marseille draw and latest on Abou Diaby’s injury

Arsenal could only manage a draw on Tuesday night against Olympique Marseille in Group F of the Champions League.
Speaking in his post-match press conference after the goalless draw, manager Arsene Wenger explained that the French side enjoyed a stronger start with the Gunners having opportunities in the first half to kill the game but having failed to do so their objective was to be disciplined in the second part of the game.
On Monday, before the game, the manager also gave a full update on the status of midfielder Abou Diaby who last featured for the Gunners on May 22, against Fulham.
Wenger declared that the Frenchman’s surgery was a success but how he will be out for three more weeks as he needs to get rid of “two small muscular” problems with the player set to take full advantage of the upcoming break to fully recover and be available for selection.
Before and after the Marseille draw, Wenger said:
I felt it was a game where we were not physically at our sharpest. Marseille started stronger than us and after that we got back in the game.
In the first half I feel we had opportunities to kill the game. After that we were disciplined, we were willing, but you have to give credit to Marseille – they defended very well.
They stopped us from playing and we were not sharp enough to get them out of position.
The positives are that we did not concede a goal, Marseille only had one shot on target and overall we know that in the final third we can do better.
[Abou Diaby?] You won’t see him for a while, the next three weeks. He will not play for France either. I am worried but I was more worried three months ago.
His ankle was not good but the surgery went very well then. Now his balance has changed so he has to adjust his muscular strength.
He has had two small muscular concerns and if he can get rid of them in the next two to three weeks he will be ready.
It’s a good time to get him right as we have a two-week break after Saturday.

It will be far more than three weeks, I honestly have trouble remembering what he looks like
. He did look from the picture I saw like he had put some weight on (esp in the face). It would be nice to have him back as a backup in case we need depth, but not sure if I’d prefer him over Frimpong. Frimpong is a bit reckless and certainly inexperienced (esp on the ball), but has a lot of potential. Diaby is much like Walcott in that he has his moments, but also is wildly inconsistent and often look as if he doesn’t care. However, he does have experience and when healthy can be a valuable player.
