Arsenal vs West Brom: Team line-ups, half-time thoughts and match chat

There is a sad pattern this season that Arsenal will today try to end and it’s of course the one that says that we lost both our games, before this season’s international breaks.
Granted, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur away from home is not West Bromwich Albion at the Emirates but we all know what happened last season when we faced the Baggies, an attacking side, fast on the wings with a very good central striker and not shy to take advantage of any mistakes we make in the defensive department.
Simply put, we couldn’t have asked for a better fixture list at this stage of the season as once back from Internationals we will face Norwich City away from home and then Borussia Dortmund first and Fulham City next, both at the Emirates.
In a way, we should hopefully enjoy a smooth sailing path before we travel to Manchester to face City on December 18 although, as I have been saying for the last month, I agree with Arsene when he says that we should take it one game at a time.
Robin van Persie, rested in mid-week, will surely be back in the starting line-up this afternoon with our manager facing the dilemma of the three central defenders as I believe that Thomas Vermaelen and Laurent Koscielny – also rested in mid-week – will get the nod from the boss.
Anyway, this is a must-win game and one game where only the three points will be considered as a positive result so come on you Gunners, keep the unbeaten run going and let’s enter the Top Four zone, which is where we of course belong.
And, until you wait for kick-off, check out Arsene Wenger’s comments on why the defensive department has to improve as well as his plan for Theo Walcott as a central striker, the latest on Abou Diaby, who will hopefully be back after the International break and also Erik Ian Larsen’s analysis of all the signings made during the summer transfer window, including Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain of course!
