If Robin van Persie is to be rested by manager Arsene Wenger during the busy Christmas period, then Ju Young Park will probably be the one to replace him.
Speaking to Arsenal Player, the South Korean was full of praise for the English Premier League as he described it as the best league in the world with his objective in his first year as an Arsenal player to feature as much as possible and to score many goals as ultimately he is a striker whose job is to deliver in the offensive department.
Asked about his favourite footballer of all time, the 26-year old confessed that growing up there was no player he considered as his favourite and how now his focus is on learning from other players.
And on replacing the Dutchman, Park concluded by saying that all he has to do to be the one to replace van Persie when rested is to work hard in training, be ready when called into action and contribute to the cause, to win as many games as possible.
Ahead of this season, Park said:
[If English football is what I expected it to be?] Well, it is the best league and I do think that the football here is very fast. Also, the people’s desire to win is much stronger than I had expected.
[My goal as an Arsenal striker?] My goal is to first of all play in as many games as possible and to show what I can do.
I want to score as many goals as I can and make people happy [and] I have to prepare well to be able to do this.
[My favourite footballer of all time?] I don’t think I have a single favourite player.
Of course I want to learn from many players, their style, skills but there’s not one player I would pick out.
[What I have to do to get ahead of Robin van Persie?] It’s quite simple, I just have to do my best in my role.
For the team to succeed we have to win all the games and to win all the games, every single player has to do their job.
Only then, can it be possible. I think I have to learn more, must prepare more, to be able to do that and give my best form.
[Which players I have spoken to most at Arsenal?] All the players have been good to me, I talked a lot with Yossi Benayoun and Andrey Arshavin and Ryo, as well.

Arsenal News 24/7

Back to work for clubs and looking ahead until Dec 31, Arsenal just have to win all their matches. Draws are not going to help and a loss to any team will be disastrous to any ambition of finishing in the top four come end of season. Thers is a long way to go, but looking at the fixtures of teams in the top 7, it is unlikely that Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea and Spurs will drop much points. I am Leeds fan and I am hoping that the humble Arsenal team maintain their current momemtum. The cherry on the cake , a victory against Mancini who seems to enjoy spending Arab money to entice Arsenal players to Man City and interfering in potential Arsenal targets. Best of luck to Arsenal fans.
